The Clock on Neihu's Lane 737: When Tech Workers Actually Eat

2026-08-24|Neihu

QUICK ANSWER Lane 737's golden window is 6pm to 9:30pm, not late night. The lane runs on street food, noodles, rice boxes and braised snacks; after 9:30 the shutters come down one by one. What actually holds until midnight are the izakayas on Neihu Road Section 1 and the massage houses on Gangqian Road. If you are only free at eleven, skip the lane.

“737” is not an address in the tech park. It is a time slot.

Set your clock: fires up at six, starts going dark at 9:30

Lane 737 runs entirely on the park’s schedule. The first wave arrives after 5:30pm; six to eight is the fullest stretch of the evening, with queues spilling from the arcade out to the lane mouth. After 9:30 the shutters drop faster than you expect — come back at 10:30 and two or three places are still lit.

So treating Lane 737 as a supper street is a misunderstanding.

It is the tech park’s dinner street. This lane feeds people who leave on time, not people who leave at eleven. Nobody writes that on a sign, but every Neihu office worker has learned it once, the hard way.

What the lane is actually good at

Rice boxes, noodles, braised snacks, fried chicken, Taiwanese staples — that is the backbone, priced between NT$150 and NT$300, easy for one. A few Cantonese and Thai kitchens mid-lane handle dinner for two or three. The dessert and douhua stalls close a little later than the mains; they are the lane’s last stop.

No stall names here — turnover inside the lane is fast, and a fixed list would only send you on a wasted trip. Watch which queue is long and which wok is steaming. That beats any list.

One summer note: there is almost no shade in the lane, and at six the asphalt is still radiating heat. If you burn easily, come half an hour later.

Who takes over after the lights go out

Past 9:30, Neihu’s centre of gravity shifts two ways.

For a proper drink, Neihu’s izakayas and bistros hold the line: the Weekend Nights at No. 711 Neihu Road Section 1 is one of the few on this stretch that runs late, with close to seven hundred reviews; Fan BAR (Neihu original) in Lane 360 has passed three thousand and remains a tech-park institution. The places on Jinhu Road and Jihu Road sit in the same walking radius.

For lying flat instead, head for massage. Taixinhe Thai Massage Gangqian I at No. 103 Gangqian Road carries over 1,700 reviews, with a second branch at No. 157 Wende Road; True Massage at No. 293 Neihu Road Section 1 runs by appointment, for people who refuse to wait. The full list is in the Neihu massage and spa directory.

For the two-hour recovery route after overtime, Neihu’s post-overtime reset goes into more detail.

Getting out: do not drive in

Neihu and Gangqian stations on the Wenhu Line are both within a ten-minute walk, last trains around midnight. On weekdays parking inside the lane barely exists and weekends are worse — park in a nearby building garage and walk in.

If you drank, it is a designated driver or a cab. Neihu’s night ends early, but this rule does not loosen.

For how the whole district fits together, the Neihu district guide covers it in one page.

FAQ

What is the best time to visit Lane 737?

Six to eight in the evening has every stall open — and every queue full. To dodge the tech-park rush, come between 8:30 and 9:30: the choice is still there and the lines are gone. Past ten, most places have closed.

Is Lane 737 a late-night street?

Not really. It is the tech park's dinner street, and late-closing shops are the exception. Neihu's genuine late-night scene sits on Neihu Road Section 1 and Gangqian Road — izakayas and massage houses that stay open.

What does a meal cost here?

Coin-level to cheap: NT$150 to NT$300 feeds one person comfortably, whether that is a rice box, a noodle bowl or braised snacks. Sit down with drinks and you jump past NT$600 a head — but that happens outside the lane.

Should I drive?

Barely worth trying; at peak even walking is slow. Neihu Station on the MRT Wenhu Line is about ten minutes on foot, and Gangqian Station is within range too. If you must drive, use a nearby building garage instead of circling the lane mouth.

Any rule for nights with drinks?

Cabs come fast around the tech park, so do not touch the wheel after drinking. Leave the car at the office overnight or book a designated driver. The few hundred dollars saved are not worth your licence.
